Fujian

Fujian,formerly romanisedas Foken, Fouken, Fukien, and Hokkien, is aprovinceon thesoutheast coastofmainland China. Fujian is bordered byZhejiangto the north,Jiangxito the west, andGuangdongto the south.The name Fujian came from the combination ofFuzhouand Jianzhou (a former name forJian'ou) two cities in Fujian, during theTang dynasty. While its population is chiefly ofHanorigin, it is one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse provinces in China.
